The Thing from Another World (1951)

PRESENTED IN THE RARE COLORISED VERSION!!! This classic film is still remembered today for its intelligent plot, great production and fine acting, notwithstanding John Carpenter's fantastic remake in 1982. It was also the inspiration for many later classic sci-fi horror flicks such as ALIEN.As stated above, the staff at a research post at the North Pole find a huge spacecraft buried under millions of years worth of ice. When they try to blast it free it explodes, but the body of the pilot is thrown clear. Upon examination, he proves to be an intelligent vegetable! However, you never saw a carrot as angry as this one. Produced by Howard Hawks, written by the father of modern sci-fi John W Campbell and starring James 'Gunsmoke' Arness as THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, this is one to watch and enjoy.More vagabond vegetables and curmudgeonly cabbages from Sneaky Elephant's allotment of horror SOON!
