WHAT A LOAD OF OLD COBRAS! This great Hammer Horror film of 1966 stars Noel Wilman, Ray Barrett, and the familiar face of MICHAEL RIPPER! Ripper was a veteran character actor in scores of British movies, usually playing the innkeeper in Frankenstein or the farmer with the tasty daughter in Dracula. Also here is John Laurie of Dad's Army fame, playing a very funny part as the local nutter... Jaqueline Pearce plays the poor girl who is cursed to become a snake (wearing a terrible pop-eyed mask). This movie has some excellent moments, from the Malay snake-charmer (Marne Maitland at his most sinister) chanting to the creature writhing on her bed to the discovery of the cast-off skin when she has wriggled away to hibernate in the stables.. Trivia fact: The vicar is played by Charles Lloyd Pack, real life father of Roger Lloyd Pack who plays 'Trigger' in Only Fools and Horses. More from Sneaky Elephant's trunk of terror SOON!
